Auto BPM Counter – Only From Pioneer
Let the digital readout confirm what you already know by ear. The Beats-Per-Minute Counter measures the BPM of virtually all kinds of dance music, enabling you to check the tempo at a glance. Linking widely differing types of music is easier than ever with the Auto BPM Counter.
Auto BPM & Effects
DELAY
A single repeat of 1/2, 3/4 and 1/1 beat music can be overlaid over a track. For example, with 1/2 Beat Delay, four beats will be increased to eight, while using the 3/4 Beat Delay produces a “leap sound” effect.
ECHO
Repeatedly overlaying beats of 1/2, 3/4 and 1/1 is simple. Cutting in 1/1 beat Echo can create an intriguing fade to the beat; applying it to the mike causes microphone output to be reproduced repeatedly to the same beat.
AUTO PAN
The left-right balance can be changed automatically to the rhythm as rapidly as you like. Auto Pan can do rhythmic switches too quick for human operators.
FLANGER
Switching to the Flanger effect produces synthesizer tones quickly and easily.
Other Effect Features
PITCH SHIFTER
The Pitch Shifter corrects for changes in pitch within a range of +/- 1 octave when using analog turntables or other vendors’ CD players. Used with the mic, the Pitch Shifter can alter voices.
REVERB
A variety of reverberation effects are available.
SEND/RETURN
Your samplers and peripherals are easily connected to the DJM-500.
Effect On/Off
With one touch of the Effect On/Off button, effects are linked to the rhythm
EQ For Each Channel
The DJM-500 features a 3-band independent EQ for each channel, allowing for simple correction, emphasis or even elimination of different sound characteristics.
Peak Level Meter For Each Channel
Source input levels are given instantly for each channel.
Beat Indicator
The indicator lamps tell you when the beat you want is linked to the Auto BPM.
A Great Match For The CDJ Series
Fader Start Play
Connecting the DJM-500 to the CDJ Series allows you to take advantage of Fader Start Play; by increasing the Fader on the mixer, the player will automatically override the Pause control and start the music immediately. Fader Start Play also works during Cross Fading, an industry first that brings out the best in sampler-style music.
Fader Back Cue Play
When the DJM-500 is used with the CDJ Series (excluding CDJ-50OG and CDJ-500), the Fader or Cross Fader controls can also return you automatically to a designated cue point if desired. By fading Cross Fader back and forth or Fader up and down quickly, you can give the “essence” of scratching a certain point on a vinyl record.
4 Channel Professional DJ mixer
Auto BPM display
Onboard effects syncable to BPM
Adjustable fader curve
AUTO BPM COUNTER
Equipped with a counter that automatically measures and digitally displays a track’s BPM measurement range:
70-139 / 91-180 / 71-180 / Manual
The DJM-600 provides a visual confirmation of a track’s tempo to allow the user to merge one song into another smoothly. Also, BPMs of tracks that are difficult to measure can be manually input by tapping on the TAP button.
AUTO BEAT SAMPLER
This is a new DJ function that allows you to sample your favorite sources and play them back easily at the touch of a button. The BPM is measured digitally and recorded automatically exclusively for designated beats
( 1 / 2 / 4 / 8 / 16 ) beats,
Maximum interval: 6 seconds.
If set to the Stand-By mode when no sound is present, the function automatically starts and stops recording in response to the presence and absence of the input signal and achieves the correct sampling with perfect timing. What’s more, the user can edit the end position, making possible a wide diversity of playback effects by making use of three playback mode options and the cross fader start.
SINGLE PLAY
Plays back the recorded sound once only when the button is being pressed.
LOOP PLAY
Plays back the recorded sound repeatedly when the button is pressed.
STRETCH LOOP PLAY
Extends or shortens the recorded sound in accordance with the mixed track’s BPM and plays back the sound repeatedly.
Sampler info:
Sampling rate: 44.1 kHz
Resolution: 16 bit stereo
A/D converter 20 bit
Sampling time 8 seconds
AUTO BEAT EFFECTOR
Linked to BPM, the DJM-600 can add effects to each CH, MIC and MASTER independently. The user can produce music that makes full use of high-level DJ techniques by performing quick setting with the Beat Unit Switch button, adjusting the precise time parameters, or controlling the balance between the effect sounds and the original sounds by varying the mix ratio. Moreover, even when using the fader, it is possible to leave just the effect sounds without linking to BPM.
DELAY
Repeats a sound once. The user can set the delay to their desired tempo.
ECHO
Repeats a sound several times. The user can set the echo sound to their desired tempo.
AUTO PAN
Automatically shifts the sound to the right and left. Also capable of short auto pan sequences that would be impossible via manual operation.
AUTO TRANS
Periodically cuts the sound.
AUTO FILTER
Periodically varies the sound color.
FLANGER
Periodically reproduces a sound effect resembling a jet airplane ascending and descending.
REVERB
Reproduces a reverberating sound effect.
PITCH SHIFTER
Allows the interval to be freely varied throughout a range of +/-1 octave. With this, the user can compensate for interval changes when using analog turntables or for tempo changes when different makers’ CD players are used. Additionally, choruses can be made by employing mix ratios.
EXTERNAL EFFECT INPUT (SEND/RETURN):
Allows the user to connect the mixer to an external effector or sampler, etc.
HEADPHONE MONITOR SPLIT
When the Headphone Output switch is set to MONO SPLIT, the right channel becomes the master and the left channel becomes the CH sound. Choosing Plural with the headphone cue, the user can also hear mixed sound. Moreover, this function can perform right and left level adjustment, thereby making monitoring easier.
FADER START PLAY
Connected to the CDJ Series, the DJM-600 can begin playback of a track using the sliding cross fader or the channel fader. It can mix tracks without creating spaces by setting the stand-by track’s cue point and performing a single-action cut-in. Since it returns to the cue point via the back fader alone, sampler-style playback is also possible. Start/back play of sources recorded using the built-in sampler is also possible using the cross fader.
EQUALIZERS
The DJM-600 is equipped with a separate HI/MID/LOW 3-band equalizer for each channel. This arrangement allows the stress of the instrument sounds to be adjusted within the range -26dB to +12dBfor an improvement of about 100% (Pioneer comparison) in sound extraction.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
CROSS FADER CURVE: Choose from three types of cross fader start-up option.
TALK OVER: Mutes -14db all levels apart from the microphone.
PEAK LEVEL METER: Allows the user to instantly determine the source input condition for each channel to make possible certain operation without loss time.
TRIM: Track input level composition is available. This function is compatible with diverse sound sources.
INDEPENDENT MONITOR SWITCH: Enables independent or simultaneous monitoring of each CH, MIC, MASTER and EFFECT.
BOOTH MONITOR OUTPUT: Utilizing independent output terminals for booth monitor use, this function allows the sound volume to be independently controlled at the upper surface.
Recording outputs (RCA)
All faders, knobs, volume controls, buttons, etc., are made to professional-grade SS-use high-durability specifications and designed to stand up to hard use.
The DJM-800 mixer gives professional DJs the tool they need to expand their musical horizon, with capabilities for mixing records, remixing, producing and performing. Pioneer’s DJ mixers have a reputation for providing high quality audio and reliability. The new DJM-800 incorporates features recommended by many professional DJs and club engineers, raising the bar on sound fidelity and ease of mixer operation.
Most important are its high quality 24bit/96kHz sampling and effect capabilities.
High Quality Audio
The analog signal from the player passes through the shortest signal route, first digitized at 24bit/96kHz through a pro A/D converter where it reaches the digital mixing stage with the best sound possible. The mixing is carried out by 32bit DSP with minimal deterioration of sound quality. A highly rigid chassis minimizes unnecessary vibration, which could adversely affect sound quality. The mixer also incorporates a dual-shield structure for eliminating entry of digital noise and a high performance power supply for noise-free power.
Sound Color Effects For A New Style of DJ Mixing
The world’s first DJ mixer with Auto Harmonic Tuning detects the key of song and automatically corrects to the closest true key. In music theory terms, when a DJ raises the pitch of a song in the key of C by three percent, the song is no longer in the key of C, but somewhere between C and C sharp. This makes it impossible to perform a perfect harmonic mix.
Pioneer’s new Harmonic Tuning feature takes the key of the source audio and adjusts the pitch until it is that of a standard note. Of course still has to know some basics about music, such as which keys match, in order to pull off an acoustically perfect harmonic mix.
World class DJs currently spend thousands of hours learning the keys of their music and re-mastering their library to be in “perfect pitch”. Now the DJM-800 makes it easier to perform a “Harmonic Mix”.
Effects
The DJM-800 incorporates a highpass / lowpass filter, notch filter and bit crusher effect for all channels. In conjunction with the additional Beat Effects, 50 combinations of effects are possible.
Higher quality effects at 24bits make for a cleaner sounding remix. The effects automatically detect the BPM of the music and sync to the beats.
The DJM-800 includes some familiar effects, plus some new ones: Echo, Delay, Reverse Delay, Pan, Transform, Filter, Flanger, Phaser, Reverb, Robot, Chorus, Roll and Reverse Roll.
Digital Input/Output terminals
Digital inputs and outputs allow for connection with other digital-capable equipment for a fully digital chain, without degradation of sound quality.
The DJM-800 is not only ideal for the club professional but also great in a recording studio environment where high fidelity sound is required. Input frequencies of 44.1/48/96kHz are compatible; output frequency is selectable between 48/96kHz.
Fully Assignable MIDI function
There are a total of 61 assignable controls. The MIDI signal can be sent from almost all knobs and switches on the surface of the DJM-800 to external MIDI equipment. Since the mixer can send out many MIDI signals, it can be used as a flexible interface to music software or hardware such as Ableton Live or EDIROL V-4 Video Mixer.
Rotary Volume Knobs (optional)
The main volume fader knobs can be replaced with rotary volume knobs (DJC-800RV), which are especially valuable for extended mixing providing more subtlety and precision.
Numerous other features make the DJM-800 ideal for a sophisticated DJ.
Cross Fader Assign allows the DJ to assign each channel’s input to the cross fader.
Fader Curve Adjust allows the user to change the cross fader/channel fader curve.
When connected to a Pioneer CDJ player, the Fader Start allows playback to be started by simply sliding the cross fader or channel fader.
A built-in three-band equalizer enables level control within a –26dB to +6dB range for high, mid, low bands, respectively.
The Talk Over feature automatically lowers track volume so an MC can talk over the track.
The Mic Signal Cut eliminates the microphone sound output to the booth monitor to prevent feedback.
The DJ can check the peak level of the input audio for each channel and the master.
